Galveston Boys Rites of Passage

Boys Rites is based on the African value-system and focuses on developing leadership in young males.  There is an emphasis on the responsibilities of adulthood in order to build self-esteem and instill moral and spiritual values that lead to a strong work ethic and a commitment to education.

Boys & Girls Club

Late Night Teen Center

The Late Night Teen Center offers teens a safe place to learn and participate in positive programming with their peers. The Club presents a variety of pro-social activities such as Computer Classes, Leadership Programs & Dances, Educational & Recreational Programs, Field Trips, Games Room Activities, Job Fairs and Speak-Outs. 

Ages 10-17

 

Power Hour

This is a tutorial program specifically aimed at enhancing reading, math, and test-taking skills of students.

G.R.E.A.T

Great Responsible Educated Associated Teens is a leadership group.  Youth are offered a unique opportunity to develop and learn human relations skills that are necessary to lead productive lives as contributing adults.  The youth work to publicize CYD programs, conduct ongoing recruitment, and assists the Collaborative Committee with identifying needs and gaps in services from their perspective.

Summer Youth Program

“Fun with a Purpose”

This program provides a comprehensive, structured summer program that includes education, life skills and tutoring, a mandatory component for participation in the program.  The program also includes fun, educational field trips.

Central Middle School

Juvenile Paths to Success

This program provides an extensive after-school program.  Students from Central Middle School, the target school, participate in programs to strengthen and develop academic skills in Math and Language Arts.  In addition, the students work with a career readiness teacher to develop skills in preparation for future employment.  High School students serve as peer mentors.

The mission of the Leadership and Resiliency Program is to increase empathy, coping, processing and leadership skills while building healthy relationships and goal setting strategies.  The program includes: Process Groups, Service Learning, and Adventure.
